About Our Karaoke Contests and 5K Walk for the Cause!
This years events will be held on October 26th at Woodland Park 1200 Willowcreek Rd Portgae, IN. The 5k Walk for the Cause is 7:30 a.am. to 11.a.m. (regitration starts at 7:30 a.m.). The ribbon cutting, official start is at 8:15a.m. There will be vendors, food and beveage trucks, a DJ, NorthShore Mobil Unit and more. The cost per person is $10. Dr. Peggy's Karaoke for the Cure event will be held on the same evening as the walk. I will be held in the Oakwood room of Woodland Park's administrative building. We will have a 50/50 raffle, cash bar, prize giveaways and more. This event starts at 5 p.m. ends 9 p.m. There is an after party from 9-11 immediately following te event.
The Karaoke for the Cure contestant information is as follows:
- The age ranges are from 6 – 106,
- Each contestant will perform (1).
- The Karaoke contest is for amatuer singers only. Chidren of all ages are welcomed. The top (3) Karaoke performers will recieve a trophies and cash prizes- Grand Champion $100, 2nd place $75 & 3rd place $50. All winners receive a trophy.
- A (3) judge panel will select the winners!
- There will be (1) Dr. Peggy's Choice Award selection also!
- The trophies will be awared at the end the event. Small trophies will be given to all children under the age 16 while supplies last.
- There will be gift cards and gift basket given away by drawings for audience members.
- The songs can come from any genre of music except for gangster rap, heavy metal, or songs with profanity in their lyrics.
- The contestants must request songs from the Karaoke DJ.
- We will allow between 1o-15 performers per half of the event.
- Anyone in the audience can perform.
- Applicants from any state are welcome.
"Dr Peggy's Karaoke for the Cure Portage fundraiser event will take place Saturday October 26, 2024. Indiana. The event will be held from 5 p.m.-9 p.m in the Oakwood Room at Woodland Park located at 2100 Willowcreek Road Portage, IN. This our 2nd annual event in Portage, IN. Please come out in support of breast cancer survivors in our community.
This is the first year that we have added a "5K Walk for the Cause" . It will take place in the park from 8 a.m. - 11 a.m. on the morning of the Karaoke event. (registration is at 7:30 a.m.)
A $25 dollar donation covers the 5K the Karoke event. A $10 donation for participation in the 5K walk. participate in the 5K walk only. All donations are tax deductible.
Immediately following the Karaoke event there will be an after party from 9-11p.m.

Dr. Peggy's Karaoke for the Cure-Portage fundraiser will be held October 26, 2024 5:00 p.m.-9p.m. at Woodland Park located at 2100 Willowcreek Road Portage, IN 46368 Our 5k Walk for the Cause in Woodland Park starts at 7:30 a.m. ends at 11a.m. Breast Cancer patients and survivors will be presented Pink Tee shirts at the walk! (Event Tee-shirts will also be sold while supplies last) A $25 donation covers both events (or donate $10 to walk only)
This is an opportunity to come out, have fun, and support a great cause- we are donating wigs, scarfs and chemo bundles to breast cancer patients and survivors. No donations are required for lap babies. All children up to the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Our events are smoke free. Vendors, food and beverages will be provided during the 15 minute intermission at the Karake event. Last year we gave away over $700 donated gift cards and baskets to our audience and participants. We hope to have give-aways again at this year's event.
Dr. Peggy Winston-Pritchett's book,"My Breast Cancer Story: The Anatomy of Tears" will be available for sale at this event.
A professional will be on hand to provide information related to the incidence ratings of breast cancer, mammography and the importance of early detection. There will be an opening act. The event may be broadcast live on one of the streaming platforms. Security will be provided to ensure safety.
Guests 18 years and older donate $25 ($15 for Children 4 -17 years old) in advance using our cash app $Karaoke4theCure, Zelle, our through paypal on the website. PHS small auditorium has 400 seat capacity.
